Year 5 Residential to Tsavo

5th May 2023

This week, Year 5 had an amazing trip to Camp Kenya.

On the first day, they loved the team-building activities with the leaders, followed by a football match. They had great fun pulling driver Hussein to the ground in a tug of war.

The valiant group enjoyed trekking up Marungu hill. They managed to reach the top of the hill and had their picnic in the caves. While at the top of the vertiginous hill, they explored different bush skills like archery, making bush shelters and fires with sticks and dung!

In the evening, they enjoyed a game drive, where they spotted various animals like zebras, baboons, impalas, etc.

On day three, they had an interaction with the women's group attached to camp. They were able to make paper out of elephant dung and made their bracelets from colourful beads.

The climax of the trip was the huge campfire where they enjoyed roasting their marshmallows. They also had an opportunity to go to the Voi train station, where we delivered two Y5 students to Mr. Buckley, bound next for a chess competition in Nairobi. They all had a great time and, despite the exhausting activities, they chatted and cheered for the whole bus ride home!
