Year 2 Takeover

13th June 2026

What a busy, productive, and action-packed year it has been in Year 2! The excitement hasn't stopped, especially with this week’s incredible highlights: our brilliant production of The Goblin Next Door and our fantastic trip to the Marine Park.

To celebrate the end of such a wonderful year, we decided to do things a little differently. We handed the reporter badges over to the children to let them share their favorite memories. Here is what our amazing Year 2 students have to say:

  • Deena: "It has been so much fun in Year 2! I loved our production and played my role as an enthusiastic pixie very well."
  • Ariyan: "Being in Year 2 has been a blast. I've enjoyed all of my subjects, especially Maths and Science. Plus, Mrs Maina is the funniest teacher I have ever had!"
  • Genesis: "I really enjoyed learning about materials in Science—where they come from and what their properties are. I also loved my DT lessons!"
  • Safaa: "When I first joined Year 2, I was quite shy. Now, I have learned to be confident and calm. I have also loved writing stories in English!"
  • Mila: "It’s been so exciting and fun! I loved Science, Maths, handwriting, and performing in the production. I’ve also made so many friends."
  • Azalea: "I've loved Art, Computing, class assemblies, and playing with my friends. Designing and making a Kanga in our DT lessons was a massive highlight for me!"
  • Maria: "Year 2 has been fun, supportive, and sometimes serious when we need to focus! I loved writing stories in English, making new friends, and getting help from my teachers in Maths."

Jasmine: "It’s been a great year filled with fun and exciting trips. The best parts were Art and DT. The teachers are always so encouraging and my friends are very kind."

Ryan: "Year 2 has been so good and very fun. We laughed and played together every day, and I enjoyed every single subject!"

Pendo: "I loved learning new things this year. In Scouting, I learned how to march, and I really enjoyed all of our school trips. My friends are so kind, and the teachers are always helpful when correcting my mistakes."

Take a look at this quick snapshot about our week!
