Last week on Saturday, the under 15’s girl netball team had the opportunity to attend AKAM’s annual netball games. We were placed in the Pool group B where we faced AKAM Jade, Jaferry academy and Shree. Even though we did not walk away with a victory on the scoreboard, the day was a win for our team's growth and development.
We put our training into action right from the whistle, working incredibly well together and keeping a tight defensive line on the court. In fact, through grit and determination, we were the team to concede the least amount of goals out of everyone playing all weekend! Our defensive wall was composed of Ashley, Pamela and Ciara, who proved that hard work does pay off.
Off the court, the growth was just as impressive. We focused heavily on our communication, working on giving each other better, more constructive feedback in between matches. This kept our heads high, our strategies focused, and our team bond stronger. Beyond the game itself, netball gave us the chance to meet and make new friends with players from other schools, showing that sportsmanship always comes first.
We are proud of how we represented the school and we will be taking the skills we learned, the friendships made, and strong defense straight into our next training session, as we await our next match!
