Primary Inter House Swimming Gala

10th March 2023

On Monday 6th March, the school pool witnessed a very exciting Inter-House Swimming Gala that contained so much enthusiasm, physical effort and polished swimming strokes. No false starts or disqualifications meant Ms. Maron was very happy at the end of the contest!

A dedicated team of timekeepers stood poised with their stopwatches at one end of the pool, while house captains, teams, teachers and parents cheered enthusiastically from the sides.

Split into two different categories (KS1 and KS2), every house gave their best and the competition was close throughout the twenty-one races. All four individual swimming strokes were on display. As ever, the relays generated huge excitement – speed and lots of noise were evident as every position and point became vital towards the overall scores.

In the end there could only be one winner and it was Chui House, who eventually took an overall 1st place after combining KS1 and KS2 points! They narrowly pipped Kifaru House to the title with a strong finish towards the end of the gala. Congratulations Team Kifaru and Simba!

The overall results of the Inter-House Swimming Gala are as follows:

  • Chui -1st position with 570 points
  • Kifaru-2nd position with 497 points
  • Simba -3rd position with 457 points

A big well done goes to all those who swam, especially those who stepped in at the very last minute to represent their house team!
