PE Breakfast challenge!

27th September 2021

This week we have been warming the children up with interform basketball shoot off in the mornings! Each class had ninety seconds to score as many baskets as possible. The scores were very close but the winners this week were YEAR 10!! Well done - we are looking forward to our next PE Breakfast challenge!

So far during the lessons the children have been playing football or testing themselves on the athletics track.

We are very much looking forward to the inter house football that will be running towards half term, and in preparation for this the students have been practising their skills and teamwork in lessons. The older students are also working on their leadership skills and learning to coach each other in their football lessons.

In the Athletics lessons we have had two new school records set, both in the 1500m, by Fidel (7m27sec) and the other Zarha (9m09sec). I have also to mention Sean and Lauren for their great improvements on last year's times along with Earnest who ran very well in both the 400m and 1500m and Joe who would also have beaten the old record that Fidel managed to break. Some excellent performances in tough conditions! There have been other good performances, including Poul and Lilly in the 400m, both narrowly missing out on improving the school records. However the 200m did see Lilly improve her own school record, (37.14 sec) and Leo narrowly missed out on the boys record by less than half a second!! We are hoping for many more records to be broken before the end of the term!
