Mombasa County Junior Swimmimg Championship

The Mombasa County Swimming Competition took place on 27th and 28th May 2023 at Aga khan with 19 of our swimmers representing Braeburn swim ClubMombasa. The team comprised of the following swimmers; Julie, George, Clara, Etienne, Umulisa, Willa, Clementine, Ishmeer, Otto, Daisy, Alvin, Afonso, Dev, Ayden , Fatema, Matis, Sienna, Aiden, Luca The event was marked by exceptional individual performances, with swimmers demonstrating their prowess and determination in the pool.

Some of the highlights of the standout performances that made the competition truly remarkable were:

Luca, Matis and Aiden Mfalme who displayed remarkable form throughout the competition. In 200 metres IM they were 2nd, 3rd and 4th respectively with a time of 3:22,3:28 and 3:29. Their flawless technique, combined with incredible speed, left the audience in awe. Luca, Matis and Aidens' exceptional individual performance were also witnessed in other events that they took part in and achieved good time and medal positions.

Sienna swum really well in 200 metres breaststroke and won a bronze medal with a time of 4:34;02.

Dev clinched bronze in 25 metres butterfly with a time of 29:50, Willa achieved Bronze in 25 metres butterfly with a time of 26:00, Daisy had silver in 25 metres butterfly with a time of 21:68, George had silver in 25 metres breaststroke with a time of32:45, Fatema had bronze in 100 metres freestyle with a time of1:48:28 and Julie had silver in 25 metres freestyle with a time of 30:41. These swimmers showcased exceptional talent and skill during the competition with other outstanding performances in various events and medals as well.

In relays: The team of 10- 11 year old boys, namely Matis, Aiden, Ayden and Luca got a silver in medley relay and a bronze in freestyle relay. The team of 8-9 year old boys 8-9 namely Alvin, Etienne, Otto and Dev bagged a silver medal in IM Medley relay.

The event was marked by outstanding individual performances from all our swimmers who displayed exceptional talent, technique, and achieved personal best times for themselves . Their achievements not only celebrated their individual success but also contributed to the overall excitement and competitiveness of the swimming competition. We applaud these swimmers for their outstanding performances.
