6th September 2021

Students in Key Stage 1 have made a wonderfully enthusiastic start to the new academic year! All children appear engaged and excited about being in their new year levels.

In Year 1 this week, children have been learning when to use capital letters in writing and counting numbers beyond 20. In Science children began exploring the 4 seasons of the year and matched typical activities with each season, while in History they began investigating toys from the past. In between, children enjoyed making, building and playing with the various Investigative Play materials in the Year 1 classroom.

In Year 2 children have begun a fiction ‘Talk 4 Writing’ topic called ‘The Bridge’ while in Maths they have been counting in sets of 2s, 5s and 10s. In Science, students are eager to learn about the life cycles of humans, frogs, butterflies and other organisms. In History, children are already excitedly creating Tudor style houses in preparation to learn about London life in the 17th century and the impact of the Great Fire of London.

What a terrific start to what is surely going to be an outstanding year in Key Stage 1!
