It is Win after Win for the U11 Rounders Team!

4th November 2019

The U11 girls' Rounders team have continued their winning streak this week with two great matches, firstly against MA and then against MSB, both Away.

We walked away from MA with a whopping 8 rounders, against MA’s 3. Neema and Miniya were their usual excellent selves in the first innings, then Lauryn and Mikaela stole the show in the second innings with their courage in just going for it and beating the fielders to the post! The fielding was excellent and our team, including Laaibah, Juliette, Maleeha, Isabelle and Samara, were focused and fast in their fielding skills.

On Tuesday, we were off to MSB. This ended up being a much tougher match, as our girls just found it impossible to hit the ball! Bowl after bowl continued with no hits, though we eventually managed to scrape 4 rounders in total, after 2 innings of 18 good balls. The MSB girls were close behind us but eventually ended up with 3 ½ rounders- a close thing! Neema was certainly our ‘Woman of the Match’ as she single-handedly bowled, caught out or ran out player after player. Well done, Neema- you are our champion! Lauryn was brilliant as a backstop, focused and accurate with a throw after throw, even after slipping over in a very wet, muddy puddle! What a hero- she just picked herself up and carried on!

Only one more match to go- next week, hopefully, against Oshwal! Can we make it a clean sweep this term? Watch this space!
