MISL Athletics 2023

During last week we had the pleasure of attending the MISL secondary athletics event. Over two hot, very competitive days our secondary students performed their jumps, throws and runs and shone. Ms Barasa had worked very hard to arrange the teams for the events and they did not let her down!

On Thursday afternoon the students took part in the field events. There were some very good performances, in the high jump both Lilly and Ernest managed third position, with Lilly also getting a third in the long jump. We also were placed with two Javelin thirds, with Nicole in the u13 and Ana in the u15s.

On Saturday morning we hit the track and we also had several good results. Alex managed a very creditable third in the u19 100m, Daniel was third in the u19 200m and Ernest third in the u15 400m, both excellent results in very competitive races. Lilly managed a very close third in the u15 200m. The relays continued this good form, with third places for the boys in the 4x200m at both u19 (Alex, Ernest, Arnav, Daniel) and u15 (Poul, Ernest, Fidel, Aden) and yet another third position for the girls in the u15 4x100m (Lilly, Anna, Olga, Nicole).

The event was capped off as Lilly received recognition as the best performing girl in her age group, u15. Well deserved after a superb few days of competition.

We are very proud of all of our athletes and their performances. The whole group put everything into their events, with everyone leaving every ounce of energy on the track or field. I know that there were some exhausted yet happy children after the event who were as proud of their accomplishments as we all are.
