Our students recently took part in the BMIS Inter-Schools Chess Tournament, where four schools came together for a day of thoughtful competition and strategic play. It was fantastic to see such a strong mix of participants representing our school, from seasoned players to those experiencing their first tournament setting.
All of our students played exceptionally well, demonstrating not only skill but also great perseverance and focus throughout the day. A particular highlight was seeing some of our youngest players, including several six-year-olds, confidently competing in the Under 8 category—an impressive achievement that speaks volumes about their determination and enthusiasm.
The tournament provided a wonderful opportunity for our students to challenge themselves, learn from others, and grow in confidence. We are incredibly proud of the way they conducted themselves, both in victory and defeat.
We are also delighted that Carl, Iviani and Jasmine will be going on to compete at the Kenya National Youth & Cadets Chess Championships. We wish them all the very best as they continue their chess journey and represent the school with pride.
