This term Year 8 has studied Digital Literacy. We have looked at “fake news” and how to behave safely and responsibly when online. This is what they have learnt
What is digital literacy? Digital literacy is about understanding how to find, judge, make, and share info using tech like phones, laptops, and the internet. It means using apps and websites safely and wisely.
What is critical thinking? Critical thinking means thinking carefully before trusting online info. You ask: “Who wrote this?”, “Is it true?”, and “Could it be biased?”.
Why is critical thinking an important part of digital literacy? Because there is a lot of false info online like scams and fake news, critical thinking helps us check what is real and avoid being tricked .
