On Friday, Year 6 visited Kwetu, a training centre for sustainable development in the heart of Mtwapa, along the creek.
This inspiring place aims to promote sustainable economic growth and human rights awareness in local communities. The overall goal has always been to promote environmental sustainability and the self-empowerment of community members, as active agents of change to improve their quality of life.
During our trip, we got to see the production of neem oil candles, view the apiaries and fisheries, and planted mangroves to contribute to the importance of this bio-diverse environment.
Growing responsible citizens of the future, who can contribute effectively to society, is a priority at BMIS, and today showed the children how little is needed to achieve a lot and make a big difference.
We had a great day- you should pop there for a visit yourself and see what amazing things are happening, right on our doorstep!
