Year 6 News

20th September 2021

This week, on Tuesday, we split up into three groups for Maths Problem Solving. One group worked with Ms Mwaka, another with Ms Sennik and the other with Miss Jones. Our topic for Problem Solving is Measurement, so Miss Jones’ group kicked off their first session with Length. We were given a variety of measurements and had to estimate how far to throw a sharpener. After we had thrown the sharpener, we then had to choose the correct measuring tool to calculate the distance to see if our estimations were correct.

We were also busy rehearsing for our Black History assembly this week, which took place on Friday. The storyline involves three teenagers who travel back in time and meet many significant figures from Black History, including Hariett Tubman and Nelson Mandela. Our parents were able to come in and watch us perform live, which was very exciting!
