Victorians

This second half of term, Year 5 children have been exploring the Victorians. They enjoyed learning lots of facts about Queen Victoria, life as a Victorian child as well as schools in the Victorian era. They related this history topic to their English unit on 'biographies' where they researched and wrote a biography of Queen Victoria.

They loved the climax of this topic by having a Victorian day, enjoying the delicious Victorian soup and dressing up as the Victorian children. They used slates in writing and recited tongue twisters to their strict Victorian teacher. Seeing Ms Mwaka pretending to be the strict Victorian teacher sure made them laugh!
