As we reach the midpoint of Term Two, we are delighted to share the exciting learning and activities Year 4 students have been engaged in. The students have shown great enthusiasm and dedication in all areas of the curriculum, and I am incredibly proud of their hard work and achievements.
Curriculum Highlights
In Maths, we have been focusing on multiplication and division, as well as length and perimeter. The students have been developing their problem-solving skills and applying their learning to real-world contexts. It has been wonderful to see their confidence grow as they tackle increasingly complex challenges.
In English, we have been working on recount stories and newspaper reports. The students have been refining their writing skills, learning how to structure events clearly and use descriptive language effectively. Their creativity and attention to detail have truly shone through in their written pieces.
In Science, our topic is electricity. The students have explored electrical circuits, conductors and insulators, and the importance of electrical safety. They have enjoyed hands-on experiments, deepening their understanding of how electricity works in our daily lives.
In History, we have studied the fascinating world of the Vikings. From learning about their longships to discovering their way of life, the students have been thoroughly engaged in uncovering the past. Their curiosity and enthusiasm for this topic have been inspiring!
Sports and Activities
This term has also been packed with exciting sporting events. Our students participated in hockey fixtures against Kivukoni School and represented our school with great sportsmanship and determination. They also took part in a swimming gala, showcasing their impressive skills in the pool. Next week, we are looking forward to another hockey fixture against Aga Khan School, and I have no doubt that Year 4 will once again demonstrate their teamwork and resilience.
Upcoming Events
The students have been putting an incredible amount of effort into their upcoming production, Gladis Baker, Gladiator, which will take place in Week 9. Their dedication to rehearsals and commitment to their roles have been truly commendable. It promises to be a spectacular performance!
We are also eagerly anticipating our residential trip to Mnarani Club in Week 11. This will be a fantastic opportunity for the students to develop their independence, build friendships, and engage in a range of fun and educational activities.
Once again, I want to express how proud I am of Year 4 and all they have achieved so far this term. Their hard work, enthusiasm, and teamwork continue to shine through in everything they do. I look forward to seeing all they will accomplish in the remainder of the term.
