Year 3: Off to a Flying Start!

We’ve had a fantastic start to the year in Year 3! Everyone has settled in, and we are all excited about the learning experiences coming our way.
In Science, we have been learning about forces and magnets and how to write reports like real scientists! We carried out two exciting STEM investigations, including making our own compass to find out which direction our school library is in. We made predictions, recorded observations, explained our results, and drew conclusions – it has been a lot of fun!
In Maths, we have learned place value up to 1000 (hooray!) and are diving deeper into addition and subtraction with regrouping– we are unstoppable!
In English, we have dived into the world of poetry. After learning lots of exciting poetic features, we used them to enhance our Magic Box poems. Next, we are designing our very own Mr. and Miss characters, ready to bring them to life in our creative stories.
In Topic, we have been learning all about Italy- its geography, food and culture. We are brimming with knowledge. Our Italian Celebration Day last week was a big highlight – especially our visit to Roberto’s where we became real chefs and made our very own pizzas!
