What an amazing start in Year 2!
We have come to the end of week six, which has been filled with exciting activities and accomplishments. The children have settled into a new routine with a remarkable ease and adaptability, showing their resilience and enthusiasm for learning.
In Science, we are learning about the life cycle of animals and humans. Now we know not every egg leads to the hatching of a chick. Children are also excited to learn about food groups and have an opportunity to design a balanced diet on a plate.
In Mathematics, our focus has been numbers and place value. This provides learners with a crucial foundation for understanding numbers and their relationships. Children had a positive and productive experience working on place value.
When it comes to English we delved into stories set in a familiar setting. We looked at a diverse setting for books from homes to a bustling city like London where children had a rich and varied literary experience. Next, we will look at nonsense poems where I am sure children will have a memorable experience.
In History, we have travelled back in time to 1666 when something very little had caught very much alight… ‘The Great Fire of London’. The children exhibited impressive enthusiasm and a strong desire to absorb further knowledge. Stay tuned for our upcoming class assembly where we will showcase what we have learnt.
Here is a short video we have made about our amazing week together. We hope you enjoy it!
