Year 10 Sociology and History

24th May 2024

The Year 10 Sociologists are studying inequality and poverty this term.

They have learnt the different forms of poverty that exist in the world.

They have also discussed sociological explanations for the existence of poverty.

Most of the sociology students also study History, which is useful since many great and horrible historical events have had their origin in the poverty and sufferings of the ordinary people. I doubt if Robespierre, Lenin, Hitler, or Putin would ever have come to power amongst people who were content and well fed.

Our students know that the hard job is not describing social problems but finding solutions to them.
