World Enviroment Day Overview

8th June 2021

We would like to say a massive well done to everyone who took part in World Environment Day last Friday! BMIS was a sea of green as everyone arrived in the morning, prepared for a day of discussion about restoring our environment. It was great to see so many exciting activities going on, both in the classroom and out in the playground. Every class created a song or a poem about why we should look after our planet (you will find some examples down below), and lots of children made bird feeders from recycled materials to take home and put in their gardens. Outside of the classroom, each class planted their own tree, either next to Early Years or the swimming pool area, and also took part in nature scavenger hunts.

Thank you to all the teachers for leading such fun activities, the ground staff who helped with planting the trees, and the parents who helped to find suitable containers for their children’s bird feeders.
