First catch of the season

11th October 2024

Congratulations to Adam for his latest fishing expedition.

Have a look at the statistics below as well as his recount and photos from the event. This is a great example of a learner enjoying success - both through his sense of accomplishment and in sampling his own catch!

We look forward to hearing more about your fishing endeavours, Adam.

First catch of the season

  • With Captain Alex
  • Out of Kilifi

On September 28th, 2024 I went deep sea fishing with my dad. This was the first trip of the fishing season for us. The seas were a bit choppy, but a lot of tunas out. We left home at 5 am and got to Kilifi at 6:15 am. We got on board to a beautiful boat called “Sirai Sea” and the captain’s name was Alex.

We had a fantastic time and I caught 2 yellow fin tunas weighing 15 kg and 10 kg. The best part of the adventure was having a fresh tuna sashimi on board that I caught and prepared by the crew. Besides the catch, we got to see dolphins and a huge whale shark that came up right behind our boat. The sashimi was delicious and we had a great experience out at sea !

I’m looking forward to more adventurous and exciting fishing trips with my dad this season and I also look forward to taking part in a few competitions this season.
