Senior Inter-house Football

13th October 2023

On Monday afternoon the senior school all gathered together to take part in the annual interhouse football event. The house captains gathered their teams and instructed them through a warm up and briefing of the afternoon's event. There were many excited and nervous faces as we settled down for the first game.

Simba battled hard during their two matches, scoring five goals with Arnav and Aden working very hard in defence; Aden blocking several shots and being a constant thorn in the sides of his opponents, even scoring a brace against Kifaru! Aimaan also battled hard, and was unfortunate to only score twice during the games. Fidel finished off the scoring for Simba with a smart finish. Chui played very well and Kifaru were pushed all the way. Aiden finished top scorer with five goals over the two games, Muhamed made good runs to help set him up and added a goal for himself. Kevin was possibly the stand out performer for Chui, orchestrating the games from the back line, assisted by Pamela and Rigby making some difficult stops. Kifaru won out in the end however, with some excellent all action performances from Matis, who also scored one, Alex who scored three in total and Fidel who made great runs and joined up the attacking play, nicking two goals himself.

We were pleased with the general play and how it was unusual to see the ball launched aimlessly, all teams looked to pass and move and tried to use their players well.

After a fun, if very hot afternoon, Kifaru came out as winners, followed by Chui and Simba.

Well done to all of those that played and took part during the afternoon.
