Block Printing

31st January 2022

During the open afternoon, the Art department was pleased to welcome parents. The students presented a few activities they do during the lessons.

The department is full of talented and extremely creative students, and we encourage this by having competitions (COBIS competition) class demonstrations and termly Arts afternoons. Such activities provide opportunities for positive critique sessions, growth and the public get to appreciate the students’ artwork.

Year 7 and 8 students (Zahra Yusufali, Anna Leon and Ciara Flynn ) demonstrated block printing. Together with the parents, they created simple patterns using blocks and printing ink. Potatoe prints, handprints and even shoe marks advance to other printing techniques that make printmaking quite interesting.
