RECOGNISING ACHIEVEMENT

16th January 2018

Mrs Janoowalla, Head of BTEC at BMIS, has been contacted by the Regional Development
Manager for Pearson East Africa, Mr Marvin Owiti, to share some amazing news. Steve Von
Aesch, former BMIS student who finished his Year 13 last year and is currently in Germany doing
a 3 year attachment with Boeing, has been identified as an Award Winner for getting Distinction
grade in all units of his 2 year BTEC course Level 3 National Subsidiary Diploma in Business. He
will be recognised at the Intercontinental Hotel in Nairobi on the 3rd February 2018. Mrs
Janoowalla describes the Outstanding Pearson Learner Award as: “an exceptional achievement
award that Edexcel/Pearson hand out to students who do exceptionally well. It is basically getting
all A*s but with a percentage of 95% and above. Steve did the equivalent of an AS level so 6 units
over the 2 years achieving distinction in all, which is excellent.”
On behalf of all the BMIS staff, a huge congratulations to you Steve!
