PSHE Reflection Year 10 and Year 12

11th October 2025

This term in PSHE has been an open forum where students freely expressed their ideas, questioned their peers, and justified their opinions. It was truly impressive to see how confidently they defended their points of view.

The Year 10 students, in particular, stood out as strong and passionate speakers who even tried to outshine the Year 12s. However, they quickly discovered that the Year 12s were well-prepared and able to defend their ideas with relevant examples.

One of my best lessons this term was our discussion on social media and mental health. We explored both the positive and negative impacts of social media on our daily lives, discussed the issue of internet trolling, why people engage in such behaviour, and reflected on the mental and emotional effects that result from online interactions.

We also discussed the challenges young people face today and shared ideas on how they can manage stress, solve problems effectively, and maintain good mental health. Through laughter and light-hearted moments, students learned the importance of taking both positive and negative comments lightly, staying confident in who they are, and not giving in to peer pressure.

It was inspiring to see them support one another with empathy, humour, and maturity, a true sign of emotional growth and understanding.
