Primary Student Council: A Year of Ideas, Voice & Action!

21st June 2025

What a fantastic year it has been for our Primary Student Council! From the very first term, our class representatives met regularly to share ideas and make our school an even better place for everyone.

Early in the year, we listened to feedback from our classmates and brought about meaningful changes — including creating new lunchtime activities and equipment, as well as running our much-anticipated food survey (congratulations to Aloo Gobi, which was voted the better dish!).

In Terms 2 and 3, our big project focused on improving playtimes. After many exciting discussions, the Student Council proposed a sensory pathway to bring more creativity and movement into our breaktimes. Although our initial plan to paint directly on the playground couldn’t go ahead, we quickly adapted. Thanks to the support of our Headteacher and the carpentry team, a wooden platform was created for our pathway idea instead.

After a school-wide vote, hopscotch was chosen as the winning design! Each class was then given a number tile to decorate — and the final result is a joyful, student-led creation that we are proud to share with you all.

A big thank you to our wonderful teachers and all the students who took part so enthusiastically. It has been a brilliant year of teamwork, creativity, and student voice in action!
