This term, the Primary Science Department has been brimming with excitement as students explored a variety of fascinating topics! Across the school, our young scientists have engaged in hands-on activities and investigations, sparking curiosity and critical thinking.
Year 1: Students delved into the world of Plants, learning to identify different parts of a plant and discovering what they need to grow.
Year 2: Our focus was on Living Things and Their Habitats, where students explored how animals and plants adapt to their environments. Mini-beast hunts and habitat dioramas were a big hit!
Year 3: Once again, Plants took center stage as students deepened their knowledge, investigating pollination, seed dispersal, and the plant life cycle through engaging experiments.
Year 4: The buzz of Electricity filled the classroom as students built simple circuits and explored how electricity powers everyday objects. Their creativity in designing circuit-based models was impressive!
Year 5: Students revisited Living Things and Their Habitats, exploring life cycles of mammals, birds, amphibians, and insects, while appreciating the importance of biodiversity and conservation.
Year 6: The concept of Evolution and Inheritance sparked great curiosity as students studied how traits are passed down and how animals adapt over time.
We’re proud of our students' enthusiasm and achievements this term and look forward to another term filled with discovery. Thank you for your ongoing support in fostering a love for science!
Warm regards,
