At BMIS, there is a diverse range of after school activities available for the students to choose from throughout the week. We actively encourage students to engage in activities aligned with their personal interests, fostering a well-rounded educational experience. These activities are thoughtfully curated to offer physical and artistic outlets beyond the standard curriculum.
Our extracurricular program is designed to nurture individual student development, providing opportunities to explore diverse interests, cultivate peer relationships, unearth hidden talents, acquire new skills, and enhance social competencies. Students not only engage in their chosen pursuits but also collaborate with peers from various classes, fostering teamwork and achieving common objectives together.
Our offerings encompass a wide spectrum, including sports, arts, yoga, ballet, scouts, golf, jewellery making, construction, Bookworms, the strategy society and Martial Arts, ensuring there's something for every student to explore and excel in.

Our young golfers have been enjoying their activity time learning golf at the Nyali Golf Club. They have been learning, with their coaches, different skills such as putting, chipping, holding their correct stance and hold of the golf clubs.
In the Color Me Happy Club, Mondays were eagerly anticipated as we delved into a world of vibrant creativity. Our sessions were filled with boundless joy and exploration as we honed our artistic skills.
We kicked off with a mesmerising sunset activity, reveling in the beauty of blending various hues. Then, we challenged ourselves with the delicate art of shading an apple using only a pencil, discovering the subtleties of light and shadow. Encouraged by our progress, we ventured into the intricate realm of portrait drawing, embracing the challenge with gusto. Amidst a few liberating free art sessions, we found ourselves reconnecting with nature, capturing the intricate beauty of hibiscus blooms on paper.
Each session was a testament to our growing passion for art and the sheer joy of creation.

Children in construction club have been utilising a variety of construction materials to craft an array of amazing creations!
While at times we set challenges where children compete to create the tallest, strongest or longest structures we also encourage them to explore their creativity freely during other sessions. This allows them to express themselves fully through their creations.

We love books! Each week, we read by ourselves and to each other, play word games, watch clips from movies based on books and talk about books and stories- all in our beautiful library.
At the Colour Me club, we had a blast expressing our creativity through coloring and painting activities. We particularly relished using Tux Paint in the ICT room. Kizito expressed his joy, saying, "I thoroughly enjoyed painting the rainbow." Additionally, we had a great time colouring various images such as butterflies, sunflowers, trees, and more. Our passion for coloring knows no bounds.

Meanwhile, in the athletics segment, students engaged in a variety of exercises aimed at enhancing their physical capabilities. Distance running sessions were incorporated to boost stamina levels, essential for enduring athletic performances. Additionally, sprinting drills were practised to enhance speed and agility. This comprehensive approach to athletics not only promotes physical fitness but also nurtures essential motor skills and competitive spirit among the students.
Overall, the Tuesday after-school activities in football and athletics have provided students with valuable opportunities to hone their skills, develop teamwork, and foster a passion for sports.

Since the second week of the term, Thursdays have been a day of excitement and challenge for students at our school as they dive into the pool to hone their swimming skills. With a focus on strokes, techniques, and endurance, these swimming sessions have been instrumental in shaping the students' aquatic abilities.
From mastering the freestyle stroke to perfecting the butterfly technique, students have embraced each session with enthusiasm and determination. Under the guidance of experienced coaches, they have worked tirelessly to refine their strokes, ensuring that each movement is precise and efficient.
Technique has been a key focus during these sessions, with coaches paying close attention to details such as body position, arm movement, and breathing. Students have been encouraged to correct any flaws in their technique, ensuring that they swim with grace and efficiency.
Endurance has also been a major component of these swimming Thursdays. Students have been challenged to push themselves to swim longer distances, building up their stamina and resilience in the water. Through regular practice, they have seen significant improvements in their ability to swim for extended periods without fatigue.
These swimming sessions have not only improved the students' swimming skills but also instilled in them a sense of discipline and determination. They have learned the value of hard work and perseverance, traits that will serve them well both in and out of the pool.

The children have enthusiastically embraced the scouting activities and always look forward to them. We've had the opportunity to delve into the history of scouting and work on various skills, including painting, basic first aid, and drills. We are planning to incorporate hiking, camping, and basic life survival skills into the activities for the next term.
This term our young athletes have been putting in the hard yards! We have had a very committed group of students taking part in the cross country club, running through very taxing, hot conditions. Our course is partly cut through the trees around the school fields to offer some shade but essentially circumnavigates the school grounds. We have been gradually increasing our distances and improving our times as well as working generally on our fitness. If you would like to come and have a run with us sometime do contact me!
Jewellery making has been an exciting activity this term. The children used different colored beads to make bracelets and necklaces.
