Music: Setting the Groove This Term

10th January 2026

The Secondary Music department has made an energetic start to the term, with students already working on repertoire for our upcoming Disco-themed Annual Arts Evening. Lessons have been filled with rhythm, groove, and creativity as students explore iconic disco styles through singing, instrumental performance, and ensemble work.

Students are focusing on key musical skills such as timing, coordination, balance within ensembles, and confident stage presence, all while engaging with the distinctive sounds and rhythms that define disco music. This repertoire provides an exciting opportunity for students to develop both technical accuracy and expressive performance in a fun and engaging context.

We are looking forward to seeing these pieces come together over the term and sharing the students’ hard work and musical growth at what promises to be a lively and memorable performance evening.
