7th March 2026
Maths in Primary has been a joy to witness this term! It has been wonderful to see our children happy, confident, and fully engaged in a wide range of exciting activities. From the first steps of number and 2D shape recognition in the Early Years to the complex plotting of coordinates in the Upper Years, the enthusiasm in every lesson has been clear—you can truly see the fun they are having with numbers.
Across the school, pupils have been diving deep into their learning. They have strengthened their understanding of place value, explored the practicalities of measuring length, height, and mass, and sharpened their skills in multiplication and division. By turning abstract concepts into hands-on challenges, our learners are developing a genuine passion for problem-solving.
To truly bring learning to life, our Year 6 pupils recently took part in a thrilling game of Coordinates Battleship. This high-stakes challenge required pupils to carefully plot their own ships and track enemy positions using precise grid references. It was fantastic to see strategy, precision, and teamwork all in action as they calculated new coordinates to stay in the game.
To climax this exciting journey, on 10th March, we will be hosting our Inter-School Maths Challenge. Our KS2 participants are incredibly proud to have made it to the finals and are eagerly looking forward to representing the school and building brilliance.
Maths in action has never looked better — engaged learners, practical challenges, and plenty of smiling faces!
