Life-long learners - Year 7 students focus on African History

5th May 2023

We will soon be celebrating the 60th anniversary of Madaraka Day, June 1st 1963.

It is good therefore that Year 7 students are now studying African History and Kenya’s Road to Independence.

They have learnt about the ‘Scramble for Africa’ by the European colonial powers in the 19th century.

They will now study the long and arduous road to gaining full independence in 1963 and becoming a republic: Jamhuri Day on December 12th 1964.

Sociologists in Year 10 are researching racial and gender inequality issues which remain entirely relevant to modern day Kenya.
