10th May 2025
Dear Parents and Carers,
We have reached the end of week 3 of the term, and I am pleased to share that students across both Key Stages have continued to show focus, positive energy and growing resilience. It has been a productive few weeks, and there is much to celebrate.
Our Year 9 students began the term with their Cambridge Checkpoint assessments in week 1. Their calm approach, maturity and consistent effort throughout the process were truly commendable. Meanwhile, our Year 11 students have also been sitting their examinations since week 1. Although official examination leave began in week 2, it has been encouraging to see a big number of them coming into school each day, consulting with teachers, revising with focus and taking responsibility for their learning. It has become a familiar sight to see them walking out of examination rooms smiling, which we would like to believe is the result of the satisfaction of rising to the examination challenge.
We are also excited about the KS3 residential trip planned for week 9. Students will be travelling to Turtle Bay in Watamu for what promises to be a rich and memorable outdoor learning experience. Letters have already been sent home, and we kindly ask parents and guardians to complete the Google permission form provided and proceed with payment to support the planning process.
Amidst all this activity, our morning routines have continued smoothly, especially when students arrive on time. From silent reading to mindfulness check-ins and student reflections. Thank you for your ongoing support and encouragement. Let us continue to nurture curiosity, effort, and care as the term unfolds.
Warm regards,
Rachel Simon
