KS3 Science

9th January 2026

Term 2 has begun with real purpose in Key Stage 3 Science: crisp routines, ambitious questioning, and a strong focus on explaining ideas clearly. From the first lessons, pupils have been challenged to think like scientists observing carefully, using precise vocabulary, and presenting work to a high standard.

This week, students explored big and small science side by side. In Space Science, they modelled solar and lunar eclipses, accurately showing the alignment of the Sun, Earth and Moon and the formation of umbra and penumbra then supported their diagrams with concise notes and key facts.

Alongside this, pupils revisited the particle model (solids, liquids and gases) and strengthened core Biology by drawing and labelling plant and animal cells, linking structures to function. The quality of explanation and presentation sets the pace for the term ahead: disciplined, curious, and ready to build independent learners.
