KS3 NEWS

13th September 2021

Earlier in the week there was a buzz of excitement as students did a quiz during morning registration. (thank you Mr Daniels for organisation). We are aiming to enliven the morning registration routine by adding some activities to spur the students for the first lesson and the rest of the day. Other add-ons include brain teasers, watching short videos and problem solving skills activities. Concerning mental wellbeing, students will now fill a brief weekly form entitled ‘My Mental Wellbeing Weekly Plan’. This is just for them to be aware of the state of their mental health, maintain a positive mindset and be ready to handle any probable challenges that may arise during the week.

We are also planning for a team building trip for KS3. This is a routine trip that BMIS plans for the Year 7 and Y8, at the beginning of a school year to help the Year 7 blend in and bond with other secondary students. This Year, however, we have decided to also include the Year 9s. The trip is scheduled for week 7, but the destination and more details will be communicated on a later date.

The Year 7 class seem to have adapted to the secondary routine, adherence to bells, after school activities, etc. In general, they seem to be enjoying learning and we wish them nothing but the best this term
