As we draw the curtains on this term, we are thrilled to celebrate the wonderful achievements and experiences of our KS3 and KS4 students who shone in a variety of enriching activities, from showcasing creativity and teamwork at the Badminton Trophy in Nairobi to excelling in Swimming Galas and the Kilifi Gold Triathlon among other events. There were also plenty of sports fixtures and friendly matches across football, cricket, and rounders, keeping spirits high and competition healthy.
This term also saw Year 7 students settling seamlessly into secondary school life. They threw themselves into sports like basketball, football, and table tennis during lunchtime, adding energy to our school community.
Respect Day and Black History Month were celebrated together, giving students the chance to explore diversity and reflect on the value of respect. Form assemblies focused on vital life skills like teamwork, communication, critical thinking, and empathy, perfectly aligned with our BMIS guiding statements. Several students stole the spotlight with their exceptional public speaking skills, wowing us with their confidence.
Year 10 students embarked on a journey of discovery in their chosen subjects. Meanwhile, Year 11 students knuckled down to prepare for their mock examinations, crucial stepping stones on their path to the IGCSEs. We also included them in events with visiting UK university representatives to get their cogs turning about the future.
After-school activities added extra sparkle to the term. Our students actively participated in MSMUN and EAMUN activities, attending a regional summit and preparing for an exciting visit to the UN headquarters in Gigiri, Nairobi, next term. There were also plenty of sports fixtures and friendly matches across football, cricket, and rounders, keeping spirits high and competition healthy.
We are also proud of our strong prefect body, whose leadership has made a real difference this term. Looking ahead, we anticipate more student-led initiatives and projects, supported by staff and driven by our dynamic student council body.
As we hang up our school hats for the holidays, we wish all our students and their families a relaxing, rejuvenating break. Merry Christmas to everyone, and may the New Year bring fresh opportunities to shine.
