KS2 News - Welcome Back to Term 3!

26th April 2025

Our KS2 children have returned with energy and enthusiasm after the Easter break and there’s a real buzz around the classrooms already—full of curiosity, creativity, and a love of learning. It’s clear the holiday gave everyone a good chance to rest and reset, and we’ve hit the ground running.

With such a positive start to the term, we’re excited for all the learning, adventures, and achievements still to come. If this first week is anything to go by, Term 3 is shaping up to be a memorable one! Although it’s a shorter term, it’s bursting with exciting opportunities for learning and adventure!

One of the biggest highlights for our upper KS2 students this term will be the much-anticipated residential trips:
Year 5 will be exploring the wonders of Tsavo East.
Year 6 are gearing up for thrills and teamwork in Sagana.

Years 3 and 4 had a fantastic time learning different water sports at Mnarani last term.

Back in school, our dedicated teaching teams are filling their classrooms with vibrant displays and launching into engaging new topics:

  • Year 3 are steeping themselves in the calming world of tea while uncovering the secrets of rocks in science.

  • Year 4 are diving into the world of solids, liquids, and gases in science, and stepping back in time as the Tudors take centre stage in history.

  • Year 5 are being inspired by the ancient Mayans, investigating materials and their properties in science, and looking at global resources and renewable energy in geography.

  • Year 6 are cracking classification conundrums in science, travelling back to ancient Greece in history, and exploring coasts and rivers in geography.

Do check out your curriculum overviews for more information about what exciting learning your child will be doing in class this term.

As we head towards the end of term, get ready to shine at ‘Braeburn’s Got Talent’—a fantastic celebration of performance and creativity.

Don’t forget to stay connected through Engage and our WhatsApp group for regular updates and reminders.

Wishing everyone a joyful and inspiring Term 3!
