A very warm welcome back to school- and already the end of Week 3! The KS2 children are settled, enthusiastic and enjoying their learning! Things are already looking busy from Y3 through to Y6. It’s been great to see the return of so many familiar, smiling faces as well as welcome a lot of new students into our Braeburn family. We would like to give a warm BMIS welcome to Felicia in Y3 and a welcome back to Louis; welcome to Maria in Y4 and Reuben in Y5.
Year 3 are feeling the magnetic pull of science, and have a fantastic display right outside their door to attract you in; Italy is their pizza-tastic topic! Year 4 are climbing aboard the historical Lunatic Express, and digesting their learning in science lessons. Year 5 are getting wild with extreme weather and spaced out with the solar system; and Year 6 are already being inspired by significant figures in Black History and are pumped about their science work on the circulatory system. You can find out more in the curriculum overviews, shared by the class teachers.
If you have any questions, queries or suggestions for us,don’t forget you can use your child’s diary to communicate, or drop us an email- we are always ready to listen and help.
Years 5 and 6 have been invited to write their applications to become Peer Mentors so please help them to get their letters written; this is a great way for the children to take on more responsibility and demonstrate those important traits of commitment, maturity and being a role-model that we look for in our future Prefects and Head Child. We have also elected our House Captains and Class Council Reps so have a look at their display boards to see who’s who- Confident Individuals, Responsible Citizens and Learners Enjoying Success, everywhere we look!
Finally, Years 5 and 6 have begun their preparations for their production of ‘Time Lord’, to be performed in Week 10. Please encourage and support your child to practise and learn their lines and the songs. If you would like to help out with any aspect of the show (costumes, props, scenery etc.) please let us know on tracey.russell@braeburn.ac.ke or janet.mwaka@braeburn.ac.ke We would love to have you along for this exciting adventure with us.
Have a great weekend.
Ms Russell
