We are delighted to welcome everyone back for Term 3, and what an incredible start it has been! The KS1 team is genuinely impressed by the enthusiasm, focus, and positive energy that our students have brought with them following the Easter break. It’s clear that the time away provided a much-needed opportunity to rest and recharge, as our classrooms are already buzzing with curiosity, creativity, and a love for learning. With such a strong foundation laid in this opening week, we are confident that Term 3 will be one of our most successful and rewarding terms yet. We look forward to continuing this momentum and celebrating all the achievements still to come!
Year 1 will be diving into the world of Geography by exploring the three major climate zones. In History, students will be learning about the lives of ten significant individuals who have made an impact. Science lessons will focus on classifying animals into six main groups, and in English, students will be crafting exciting adventure stories featuring superheroes of their own creation. In Maths, we'll continue following the White Rose Maths scheme, with upcoming units on multiplication, division, and working with numbers up to 100.
In Year 2, students will embark on an exciting exploration of China during their Geography lessons, delving into the country's rich culture, landscapes, and traditions. Meanwhile, in History, they will take a captivating journey back in time to the remarkable Stone Age, discovering how early humans lived, worked, and evolved. In Science, our young learners will be investigating a variety of materials, examining their unique properties, and understanding how these characteristics determine their uses in everyday life. English lessons will be filled with creativity and imagination as students focus on writing adventurous quest stories, developing their narrative skills through engaging characters and thrilling plots. In Maths, the emphasis will be on building a solid understanding of key concepts such as fractions, telling the time, and interpreting statistics. Students will also explore positions and directions, enhancing their spatial awareness through interactive and practical activities.
As you can see, there is plenty to look forward to this term in KS1, we are excited for all the learning and achievements that lie ahead!
