Key stage 3 News

31st January 2026

Key Stage 3 students settled into the term with real purpose and enthusiasm. Registration has become a lively part of the day, with activities shaped by student voice. As a result, tutor time now enjoys 100% attendance across the key stage – a clear sign that pupils feel involved and valued.

In Year 7, peer-led sessions on consent, positive thinking, respect and study skills help pupils practise speaking in front of others, listening carefully and taking responsibility for the tone of the tutor group. Year 8 registration includes student council work, word games like Articulate and maths challenges, giving pupils a genuine say in school life while strengthening resilience, teamwork and problem-solving. Year 9 form times blend brain teasers, world news, meditation and fun quizzes, building curiosity, global awareness, calm reflection and fair play.

Year 9 also experienced a “taster week” in which teachers introduced the content of IGCSE subjects ahead of subject option choices. This sparked thoughtful conversations about future careers that continue around the school and in classrooms. We are encouraging parents to continue these conversations at home, as this will support Year 9 in making well-informed, realistic subject decisions.
