It is heart-warming to pull through to the end of a successful term. This is the term when we had the Key Stage 4 residential trip which was an exciting learning experience and adventure in Naivasha. This trip provided an engaging learning environment where the students were exposed to and substantially developed practical skills, confidence, and attitudes that will enable them to succeed and thrive.
This was followed by a well-deserved half-term break and they came back rejuvenated and ready to start the second half of the term to complete final preparations and revision before the Mock examinations that take place early next year.
World War 1 – Remembrance Day: We joined the rest of the world and Braeburn Y6-11 students in a minute of silence in memory of the fallen World war heroes on Remembrance Day. The event tagged, “Armistice Assembly” featured a talk on World War 1 history, War poetry recitals and listening to the reading of letters and journal written by children living in war-torn areas such as Ukraine.
Election of Prefects: This yearly activity was specially packaged to expose students to the process of applications, interviews , elections and the democratic nature of leadership. Students in Key Stage 4 went through various stages of this rigorous process which saw the selection and election of Student council members, Class prefects, and House captains through a secret ballot system. Kingdavid Indiazi of Year 11 was appointed Head prefect with the responsibility of leading the team of newly appointed Class Prefects, House captains, Vice captains and Student council representatives.
The prefects and council representatives have been meeting regularly at meetings chaired by the Head prefect to discuss the affairs of the school. They have also led and been involved in helping during school events including bake sales, Music & Arts evenings and Emceeing at school events.. Well done to our Future leaders!
