We have reached the end of Term 2, and the KS4 team would like to reflect on a term defined by opportunities and Braeburn spirit. This term was marked by a significant milestone for Year 11 students, who completed their mock examinations and have taken the time to review their results, plan and revise for the rapidly approaching IGCSEs.
The IGCSE examinations are scheduled to begin next month and all students have received their timetables. As they break for Easter holidays, we encourage them to maintain a healthy balance. This holiday is a vital opportunity to recharge and relax, but it is also a crucial time for consistent personal study to keep their knowledge sharp. To support this final push, we would like to remind KS4/5 parents that our holiday revision sessions are set to proceed. The full timetable was shared via email two weeks ago. If you have not yet confirmed your child’s attendance, please complete the registration via the link on the letter as soon as possible.
Beyond academics, this term has focused on the holistic growth of individuals and groups. Our students have consistently stepped up, seizing opportunities both in the classroom and through extracurricular activities and academics-based events like Maths Day and Global Money Week, providing invaluable experiences, with students like Ashley in Year 10 displaying confidence in leading one of the inter-house activities planned. Whether through leadership roles or collaborative projects, students have demonstrated what it means to be part of the BMIS community. I wholly agree with a brilliant educator who once (last year) stated that the world’s greatest schools are student-led! I have witnessed students grow tremendously when given leadership initiatives, as they learn to plan events from scratch and see them through to fruition.
We wish all our families a restful and productive break. We look forward to seeing everyone return refreshed and ready for the final push of the academic year.
