The recent IAPS Swimming Competition held in Nairobi was a thrilling event, showcasing the talent and determination of young swimmers from various schools. Among them, the swimmers stood out for their exceptional performance and sportsmanship.
The competition, held at three different schools, saw BMIS fielding strong teams in each age category. The Under 9 team, comprising of Willa, Nyandeng, Sophie, Jasmine, Etienne, Adam S, and Veer, competed fiercely at Brookhouse School. Their enthusiasm and skill were evident in every race, setting a high standard for the rest of the competition.
The Under 11 team, made up of Vyan, Ayden, Alvin, Dev, Fatema, Freja, Zahra, and Daisy, showed great determination at The Banda School. Their dedication to training and improvement was evident in their performance, pushing themselves to new heights in each race.
The Under 13 team, consisting of Matis, Aiden, Denis, Sean J, Nicole, Natalie, Ivana, and Sienna, displayed incredible talent and teamwork at Kenton College. Their synchronised efforts in the pool and unwavering focus on their goals were truly commendable.
Among the standout performances, Denis deserves special mention for winning silver in the 50 metres breaststroke. His dedication to his craft and perseverance in training paid off in a well-deserved victory.
Willa also made her mark by winning bronze in the 25 metres butterfly, showcasing her speed and technique in the pool. Her achievement is a testament to her hardwork and dedication to the sport.
Furthermore, the Under 13 boys team of Matis, Aiden, Denis, and Sean J showed their strength by winning bronze in their medley relay. Their coordination and teamwork were exemplary, highlighting the spirit of camaraderie that defines BMIS swimmers.
Overall, the IAPS Swimming Competition was a fantastic event that brought out the best in our young swimmers. Their passion for the sport, coupled with their talent and determination, made BMIS proud. Congratulations to all the swimmers for their outstanding performance, and we look forward to more successes in the future!
