Head Students - Confident Individuals, Responsible Citizens, Learners Enjoying Success

27th March 2025

General Life as a 6th Former by Aaliyah Hasnain - Written as head girl and a 6th former.

It has been a rewarding and challenging experience to be a sixth former and Head Girl at Braeburn Mombasa International School. I have learnt a lot about time management, leadership, and flexibility from juggling my responsibilities as the Head Girl, A-Level Maths Student, and BTEC Business Student.

Without a doubt, this term's high point has been the Career Evening that we held on March 19th. It was a rewarding experience to work closely with my business classmates when planning the event, arranging with the guest speakers, and making sure everything went well and without any problems. It was all so worthwhile when students interacted with experts and walked away feeling more motivated and inspired.

Other significant events this term have included helping with the Maths Challenge and Prefect Training, where we mentored our young student body of prefects in interpersonal and communication skills. These encounters highlighted the significance of teamwork and the worth of giving back to the school community.

At BMIS, sixth form is about more than just academics, it's about taking on roles that will help us in the future. The growth and opportunities that come with being a part of the BMIS community are endless!

Reflections on a Successful Term as Head Boy

As the term draws to a close, I can’t help but reflect on what has been an incredibly fulfilling few months for me as Head Boy of Braeburn Mombasa International School. From leading key events to achieving personal and team milestones, this term has been nothing short of a success.

One highlight was organising a guest speaker event for the students, where external speakers shared valuable insights and inspired us all. The feedback was overwhelmingly positive, with attendees leaving both informed and motivated. Seeing the impact of this event was a rewarding experience.

Another proud moment was co-leading the prefect team alongside the Head Girl during the BMIS Showcase. The event ran seamlessly, and it was gratifying to hear teachers acknowledge the positive influence of our leadership. This moment reaffirmed the importance of teamwork and collaboration.

On the sports field, I had the privilege of captaining our football team to one of our best performances yet. We reached the quarterfinals of an open tournament, conceding only one loss and one goal. It was especially fulfilling to challenge expectations, as we’ve often been underestimated in such tournaments.

Overall, this term has been a success in my books. As I look forward to my final term at BMIS, I’m eager to continue making an impact and leaving behind a legacy I can be proud of if I have not made an impact yet.

Thank you for your continued support, and I wish everyone a restful break and a fantastic start to the next term.
