HABARI ZA KISWAHILI

10th January 2026

It has been a vibrant and vocal start to the new term in Kiswahili lessons. Our focus across all year groups this week has been on developing oral proficiency; students have been actively engaging in classroom discussions, primarily sharing stories about their December holidays. It has been wonderful to hear them describe their travels, family traditions and festive celebrations using their expanding Kiswahili vocabulary. This exercise has not only enhanced their confidence in spontaneous speaking but has also positively influenced their mood during classroom interactions.

This week has been particularly important for our Year 11 students, who have been engaged in practising their mock speaking tests – a crucial aspect of their IGCSE preparation. These assessments mirror the formal examination setting, providing students the opportunity to showcase their fluency, grammatical accuracy and ability to discuss various topics under pressure.
