What a vibrant and imaginative week we’ve had in FS2!
The children have been learning all about the famous artist Vincent van Gogh. They were especially fascinated by his iconic Sunflowers painting. Inspired by his bold colours and swirling brushstrokes, the children created their very own sunflower masterpieces — full of expression and individuality! Be sure to ask them what they remember about Van Gogh’s life and style.
To complement our art, we’ve also been listening to a selection of classical music throughout the week. The children responded beautifully, using paint to express how the music made them feel. It was wonderful to watch their brushstrokes dance in time with the music, translating sound into colour and movement.
Outside, imagination has taken flight! The role-play area has been alive with princesses and superheroes. From relaxing in their castles to capturing the baddies, the children have been developing storytelling skills, teamwork, and confidence through play. It’s fantastic to see their creativity shine both indoors and out.
