EYFS - FS2 News

17th November 2023

The busy bees of FS2 have had an exciting first term so far. Our current topic is ‘Pirates’. The children have enjoyed learning about pirates, finding out their pirate names, making pirate hats and role playing on pirate ships they made with the hollow blocks. This week they had to follow clues to find a hidden treasure. The clues took them around the school to find Sid the Sloth visiting them from Venezuela.

This week in Maths they have been learning about positional language which will lead to using pirate maps next week. For ICT they were introduced to beebots and had to make it move around the pirate mat. The busy bees are already on their learning to read journey. They have been working on letters in level 2, reading CVC words and have begun to learn about tricky words. They are very excited to learn to read.

This term we have created a loose parts area. Loose parts are a variety of resources like bottle tops, pom poms, tube and leaves. They use the loose parts to make, build, invent and experiment. Our busy bees have enjoyed creating pictures, towers and patterns with our loose parts resources.

Enjoy some photos of our busy bees.
