It has been an exciting 8 weeks in the Crèche! Our learning journey this term has taken us through three fascinating topics: Construction, Fruits & Flowers, and My School. Each topic has brought its own adventures and opportunities for creativity, exploration, and fun.
During the Construction topic, the children amazed us with their creativity and problem-solving skills. They enthusiastically designed and built their own special creations, including bridges, roads, and houses. Using a variety of materials such as cardboard boxes, wooden blocks, and recycled items, they brought their imaginative ideas to life. The Loose Parts area became a favourite spot in the classroom, where they experimented with different combinations, arranging and rearranging items to create something new each time. It was wonderful to see their masterpieces.
A recent highlight was our shopping trip, which was part of the Fruits & Flowers topic. The children were thrilled to go on an adventure to buy a variety of fruits. At the supermarket, they explored different types of fruits, learning about their names, colours, shapes, and textures. They also practiced important life skills, such as choosing their favourite fruits, waiting in line, and even paying at the checkout counter. Back in the classroom, they eagerly worked together to make delicious fruit salads, learning how to safely cut the fruits (with child-friendly tools) and mix them. They were excited to taste their creations, enjoying the vibrant colours and delightful flavors.
The My School topic was another wonderful experience. We explored the different people who help us at school, such as teachers, cleaners, security guards, and kitchen staff, and learned about the important roles they play.
