Poetry has a remarkable way of connecting people, it allows us to share our thoughts, emotions, and experiences while opening our eyes to new perspectives. This year, Braeburn Mombasa International School students proudly joined young writers from around the world in the COBIS 2025/26 Poetry Competition, celebrating creativity and the joy of self-expression through words.
The theme, “Through Another’s Eyes,” encouraged our students to use perspective and voice to show the world their point of view and explore imagination, and the beauty of seeing the world from different viewpoints. Over the past few weeks, they have poured their ideas and emotions into crafting original poems that capture the extraordinary in the everyday.
These poems were entered in our annual Braeburn Mombasa Inter-House Poetry Competition, which provides a wonderful platform to showcase the literary talent within our school community. During last week's Monday assembly, the winning poems were proudly announced, sparking great excitement and celebration.
Three exceptional finalists Iviani, Hafsa and Natalie will represent Braeburn Mombasa in the upcoming international COBIS Poetry Competition, a fantastic opportunity for our students to shine on the global stage and share their creative voices with a wider audience.
Our heartfelt congratulations are extended to all our young poets for their imagination, dedication, and passion for language.
We are so proud of our students for embracing this year’s theme with such creativity. Their poems truly reflect the thoughtfulness and imagination that make the BMIS community so special. Let us continue to celebrate their creativity as they share their voices with the world!
