We are thrilled to announce that the recently concluded DELF (Diplôme d’Études en Langue Française) exams went exceptionally well! A huge congratulations to Adam, David and Maria for their outstanding performances. Their results are a testament to their hard work, resilience and passion for learning French.
David particularly stood out in the writing section. His remarkable ability to spell French words correctly, despite the differences between French and English phonics, is something to be admired, perhaps even a secret he should share with us! He achieved a commendable 65% overall.
Maria’s enthusiasm and willingness to speak French at every opportunity gave her a powerful edge. She tackled every task with confidence and earned an impressive 22/25 in speaking, narrowly missing only three points. Her overall score of 68% reflects her courage and growth throughout the process.
Then there’s Adam, whose natural flair for oral French is undeniable. Whether it’s listening or speaking, he quickly grasps the task and delivers confidently. Adam scored 21/25 in listening and 20/25 in speaking, reaching a strong 75% overall!
These performances highlight the diversity of strengths among our learners in Braeburn Mombasa. By nurturing these individual talents through peer learning, we open the door to deeper understanding and greater student ownership of the learning process. With just a little guidance from the teachers, our learners are well on their way to becoming confident, upcoming independent language users.
I am inviting the high school students to register for the DELF junior June session. Mondays at lunch time are set to support the students during the revision process.
Confident individuals, responsible citizens, and learners enjoying success, this is what Braeburn is all about.
Ms Oira,
Teacher of French.
