This week, Year 9 students sat their Cambridge Checkpoint pre-mock examinations in Mathematics, English and Science.
The examination room was set as per Cambridge Assessment International Education’s guidelines and the strict examination rules followed. All the Year 9s took the pre-mocks seriously and were curious to find out more about examination regulations. They also felt quite proud to have sat these papers and understood their importance.
Once the papers were collected and the students allowed to leave the exam room, there was a buzz in the corridors as they were eagerly comparing their answers and discussing the questions that had come up.
During our student council meeting last week, the Year 9 representative, Ernest Took, shared, for the What Went Well part of the meeting, that Year 9 students were very happy with the revision papers they had been given the past few weeks to prepare them for the pre-mocks.
It is very pleasing to see that students are taking these examinations seriously and trying to achieve their best. Well done Year 9 for embracing our Summum Appeto Braeburn moto!
On Friday students raised money for the charity Kenya Kesho by coming to school in their pyjamas. Kenya Kesho is a charity that helps vulnerable children go to school.
Well done to all our students for working towards reaching and surpassing their academic targets all year long whilst still caring for the people and environment around them.
