This term, BTEC Business students are exploring how branding is used by real-world businesses as part of their coursework for Unit 24: Branding.

Branding is more than just a logo or catchy slogan – it is about strategy, customer connection, and long-term business success. Students are examining how companies use branding to build identity, influence perception, and remain competitive in a dynamic market.

To bring their learning to life, students have each selected a global or local brand to analyse. This term’s focus brands include:

  • BATA – Known for its reliable and affordable footwear, BATA’s branding focuses on accessibility and trust.
  • Dove – A brand that champions real beauty and self-esteem, using purpose-driven branding to stand out.
  • Burger King – Bold, playful, and rebellious, Burger King’s brand thrives on creativity and humour.
  • Apple – Synonymous with innovation and premium quality, Apple’s branding is sleek, consistent, and globally influential.
  • JW Marriott Hotels – A luxury brand that emphasises elegance, exceptional service, and timeless sophistication in all its branding.

Students are learning how brand design, business strategy, and external influences all work together to shape powerful brands. They will soon present their insights through a blog post and strategy reviews, showcasing a deep understanding of how branding drives business success.
